This activity program is for people who want to meet the World Health Organisation's (WHO) physical activity guidelines for adults aged 65+, and want the freedom to develop their own plan.

  • Key Benefits

    People who meet the WHO activity recommendations:

     

    • Have better physical function and ability to do things they enjoy
    • Experience improved mental health
    • Have better cognitive ability
    • Are less likely to develop persistent pain
    • Are protected from, and can better manage, cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers
  • Prerequisite Function

    To start this program a baseline level of function is required, including the ability to:

    • Perform repeated sit to stands
    • Perform repeated wall pushups
    • Perform repeated bridges
    • March on the spot
  • Equipment Required

    The only equipment required is comfortable exercise appropriate clothing and footwear.
